Nectar collectors serve as portable devices for dabbing. They are alternatively referred to as honey straws or dab pipes and essentially function as handheld dab rigs for vaporizing cannabis concentrates, commonly known as honey or nectar. These honey straws consist of a tube featuring a mouthpiece at the upper end and a heated “straw” at the lower end. The tube component is available in various materials such as silicone, metal, wood, or glass. The straw portion is constructed from materials capable of withstanding high temperatures, such as titanium or quartz, often designed with fins to aid in heat dissipation.

Initially, honey straws necessitated the use of a torch for heating. However, contemporary iterations include electric versions that eliminate the need for an external heat source. Certain variations even integrate bubbler sections to facilitate water filtration and enhance the authentic experience resembling a traditional rig. The inaugural honey straw, invented in 2014 under the name Nectar Collector, established the concept.
